Shawna Akin

Shawna Akin is a certified Medical Skin Care Specialist who has earned several certifications in Lasers and Intense Pulse Light treatments and advanced aesthetic certifications including the NCEA (National Coalition of Estheticians Assoc). Shawna is a graduate from Cornish College of the Arts, summa cum laude.

 

Shawna has been in the medical aesthetics industry since retiring from a sixteen-year professional ballet career in 1999.  Shawna absolutely loves caring for your skin.  Clinically, she is interested in acne and rosacea cases, as well as chemical peels, medical facials, microdermabrasion and laser and light therapies.  Shawna recently went to New York and Paris to further her education in permanent make-up artistry. Permanent make-up includes eyeliner, eyebrows, and lip color.

 

“My role as your medical skin care specialist at Providence Physicians Plastic Surgery, Mill Creek is to care thoughtfully for your most visible part, your skin”, says Shawna. “Our skin is the ultimate interface between the world and us; in particular, it shields us from the multiple and harsh environmental aggressors we literally “face” on a daily basis.” Shawna has a passion for patient education as well as patient satisfaction.

 

Outside of work, Shawna enjoys the fine arts of Seattle, international travel and spending time with her son.
