Natural, long, thick eyelashes. Not everyone is blessed with them. What is the best solution to getting those luscious lashes?

Latisse vs Lash Extensions vs Lash Conditioners. Which is best?
Latisse eyelash growing serum results are natural and durable but take time to achieve.
High-quality eyelash extensions look good immediately, but Covid-19 makes getting them problematic
Conditioners are just that, they can achieve good results but you need to be blessed with good eyelashes to get the best results.
How to decide what would be best for you.
All three solutions to get luscious eyelashes work. There are women that swear by each but what’s really important is which option is right for you. In our opinion, Latisse is the best option to achieve luscious eyelashes during a pandemic. It will produce longer, thicker lashes than a lash conditioner. Latisse is better for your lashes than lash extensions and is much safer at this time of Covid-19. A personal consultation with a medical skin care expert will help you to understand the pros and cons of each.

A Longer Look at Lashes
Latisse vs Eyelash extensions vs Lash Serums
Latisse® Eyelash Growth Solution: all-natural results that last with easy daily treatment
One of the most well-known eyelash growth options, Latisse is an FDA approved topical treatment that can help natural lashes grow fuller, longer, and darker with regular use. Fun fact: Latisse was discovered by accident—it was originally used as a glaucoma treatment. Patients were reporting eyelash growth after use, and the rest is history!
For optimal results, Latisse must be applied once daily to the upper eyelids (it only takes a few seconds per eyelid). Most patients experience noticeable lash growth after 8 weeks of regular use, with the most dramatic improvements occurring after 16 weeks. Results can last indefinitely with daily use, which makes Latisse a great option if you prefer an at-home treatment and all-natural, easy-to-maintain results.

Are there side effects of Latisse?
Serious side effects are very rare with Latisse, but there are a few to be aware of (from most common to least):
- Eye itching or redness
- Dryness and irritation
- Unexpected hair growth in other areas (such as the brows)
- Skin darkening around the eyes
- Irreversible eye color change is part of the Latisse labeling but this effect has mainly only been shown to occur in patients using it as a glaucoma medication.
Eyelash Extensions:
Eyelash extensions are made from a combination of natural and synthetic fibers, which are held to the lash line using a medical grade adhesive. Application by a specially trained makeup professional takes about one to two hours, as each extension is placed individually to blend in with your natural lashes. Your provider will help you choose the length, shape, and shade to best meet your needs. After treatment, your full results are ready instantly.
The cost will vary depending upon the technician you chose, the product used, and how many extensions you require, but expect between $100 and $300 for your first application with a slightly lower price for fill-ins every 2 to 3 weeks (usually about $125). High-quality eyelash extensions are better than the lower quality because you can swim, cry, work out, and live your normal life without worrying about them.
What Are the Risks of Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions are very safe when performed by a trained, experienced makeup artist, but there are a few considerations:
The person applying the lashes is very close to your face for one to 2 hours. This is a concern at this time and many women who regularly got extensions have chosen to abandon them because they were either not able to get in to see their provider because of the challenges surrounding Covid-19.
They last about 4 to 8 weeks, so you’ll need to repeat treatment to maintain your results. A significant proportion of our patients who get eyelash extension are preparing ready for a wedding, prom, or other special event—extensions are perfect for a short term dramatic boost.
Remember though, cheap eye lash extensions look cheap.
After your lash extensions start shedding they will begin to look a little uneven. You can avoid this by scheduling touch-up treatments as recommended. In addition, some people do feel irritation if artificial lashes get in the eye when they shed.
Lash Conditioners and Serums
There are virtually hundreds of lash conditioner or serums and they are available everywhere makeup is sold and on Amazon. Examples of tradenames include: Revitalash, Lashfood, Lanser Lash Serum, Shiseido Lash Serum, Woolash, LiLash and Realash, to name just a few.
Conditioners or serums all act to “condition” or soften your lashes and thus keep them from falling out faster. Eyelashes are terminal hairs, meaning they will grow a certain length and then fall out. Women blessed with long natural lashes simply “hold on” to their lashes longer than most before the lash falls out or terminates. A lash conditioner is designed to do the same thing; keep your lashes in longer so they are longer before they fall out.
Lash conditioners take 8 to 16 weeks to see dramatic results and like Latisse you have to apply them daily or you will not see results. Similarly, if you stop, your lashes will return to normal.
One benefit of lash serums is that they will restore moisture to your lashes which can get very dry if you use mascara regularly.
Mascara
Mascara is a staple of many people’s beauty routine to achieve thicker, darker lashes. Mascara will not make your lashes grow but some mascaras now have a conditioner mixed in that will keep your eye lashes more moist than regular mascaras and thus keep your lashes from breaking as readily or falling out sooner than normal.
